NEWS:

Bram Stoker: Many Radio Azteca reports have been forwarded from the
Belfast drop. I'm trying to find my old QSL records so I can get the
QSL numbers correct. At any rate (new numbering system?), all reports
will receive the attention they deserve. Gross but tasteful Monique the
Mail Woman is on the job, assisted by Emiliano Zamboni.

OUR EDITORIAL POLICY: What editorial policy? Just send your stuff in,
we'll handle the rest.

by 2231, Dickweed playing music including Rage Against The
Machine, said "state of emergency snowfall show", mentioned com-
puter trouble forced them to not broadcast over the holidays &
took a phone call to the RFW bunker. (Filipkowski,RI)

RADIO GAGA

1/22, 2303-2307, 6925/U; Heard weak music & difficult to tune in, ID
via HFU logs. (Filipkowski,RI)

UNDERCOVER RADIO

1/23, 0118, 6940/U; tune-in to someone saying he is ``firing things up,
hope someone is hearing me`` despite ``crappy conditions``. If so,
post on HF Underground. It`s ``Doctor Benway, Undercover Radio,
broadcasting from the Middle of Nowhere``. Says he has a complete
new setup; does it sound OK? No way to patch in music right now,
but will in very near future. 0120 says he`s going to tune back
up to XLR8, address [email protected], and apparently off
for the time being, so I also tune up to 6950 for now.
(Glenn Hauser, OK)
1/23, 0202, 6960/U; someone is glad to be heard tonight & now with
music. Sounds like Benway again on a new frequency; 0206 some-
thing about ``A-OK in the mid-Atlantic area`` (presumably refer-
ring to blizzard warnings). Now he`s S7. Refers to heavy-metal
songs; 0211 thanks for checking in to Skipmuck (an HFU regular),
John Poet, et al. (I would do so in real time, except for me,
DXing & Computing are mutually exclusive.) Full ID again as
above & address; then ``We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions``.
At HF Underground, he got two posts under 6940:
http://www.hfunderground.com/board/inde ... 905.0.html
and fifteen under 6960
http://www.hfunderground.com/board/inde ... 906.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK)
1/23, 0203-0235, 6960/U; fair sig, host Dr. Benway, songs: dream on,
born to be wild, Lagrange & a tune by Rush, undercoverradio@
gmail.com. (Hassig-IL)

WAZU

1/24, 1629-1713*, 6950.5/AM; S5-7 with songs by The Kinks, Queen,

the week in title like; I Don't Like Mondays, Ruby Tuesday, A
Wednesday Car, echo ID by YL voice & "the station for every day
of the week". (Filipkowski,RI)
1/23, 2104-2132, 6950/AM; S7-8 faded to S5 by 2132, songs Manic Mon-
day, Monday Monday, IDs. (Filipkowski,RI)
1/23, 2200, 6950/AM; poor at or below already low noise level, heard
some music popping up in the noise, got ID from the HFU site,
WEEK not WEAK. (Hassig-IL)

XLR8

1/22-23, 2318-0041, 6950/U; S3-4 with songs by Billy Idol, Glen Frey
& a parody of My Sharona. (Filipkowski,RI)
1/23, 0048-0157, 6950/U; An eclectic group of musical selections that
I, mostly, did not recognize. (35443, Hunsicker, PA)
1/23, 0102, 6950.0/U; ``M-F`` song at tune-in & I don`t mean Medium
Frequency or Monday-Friday. Then I log some other pirates &
licensed pirate station WBCQ where Allan Weiner is urging
pirates now to use AM, NOT SSB (see WBCQ log for more); back to
here at 0120 when blues plays, 0123 ``X-L-R-8`` ID & more
music. 0157 check, this one is off. Many other logs here:
http://www.hfunderground.com/board/inde ... 899.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK)

UNIDs:

1/22, 2201-2211:37*, 6925/AM; Feature about the SCR-299 xmtr for
mobile military setup; closed with patriotic music @2209 &
seemed to start into a repeat before going abruptly off. SIO=
242+, far better in USB; pesky & buzz burst QRM. No ID on
either Free Radio Net or HFU posts. (Frodge-MI)
1/23, 0103, 6925/AM; JBA carrier, jumps around slightly; At 0117
it`s on 6925.00-AM with music. At 0200, on 6925.07 variable
with announcement, unreadable. Maybe more than one station
involved over this period. These unID logs suggest Liquid
Radio & Radio Gaga:
http://www.hfunderground.com/board/inde ... 904.0.html
Channel Z was on frequency later before 0300 (Glenn Hauser, OK)
1/23, 0158, 6935.32/AM; very poor S7 pirate signal with music,
announcement. Can`t make out anything further. No logs of
this on HFU or Free Radio Cafe (Glenn Hauser, OK)
1/23, 1430, 6935/U; Songs The Politics Of Dancing & Everybody Have
Fun Tonight, then off. No ID heard. Guessing Moonlight Radio
given weak, tinny signal, but in the log as an UNID. (Gay-KY)
1/24, 0224, 6930/U; pirate music, but stops at 0225 & some talk I
can`t make out; nothing further during next semihour nor any
other pirates noted this Saturday night. Three other logs of
it as unID; I did not find it to be Spanish:
http://www.hfunderground.com/board/inde ... 931.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK,)
1/24, 1538-1547*, 6925.4/AM; S7-8 with Voodoo Chile Hendrix then
off. (Filipkowski,RI)
1/24, 2141, 6925.15/U?; Barely audible music; probably Liquid Radio
often reprted on this freq. (Frodge-MI)
1/25, 0256, 6925.0/U; soul music S9+10, 0258 another tune, now S9+20
refined to 6924.97 with some overmodulation distortion; at
0303 fades way down and/or off as I start to hear a muffled
announcement--or rather, that`s another station on LSB; when
switching to that I hear colloquial Brazuguese almost like a
broadcast, but then pause and 2-way answer; so I guess it`s
not RCW, Chilean pirate which has also used 6925. More obs of
this as unID from *0248, and also Brazilian LSB:
http://www.hfunderground.com/board/inde ... ic=25960.0
(Glenn Hauser, OK)
1/25, 1605-1616*, 6925/U; S3 playing a radio drama between OM & YL,
heard "remember when you were 10 years old" & "most women who
were Catholic....". (Filipkowski,RI)
1/25, 1846-1849*, 1918-1943, 7590/AM; S4-5 and noisy with a Kiss tune
then off. Came back on S5-6 around 1918 relaying some ham radio
comms. (Filipkowski,RI)
1/26, 2200-2324*, 6925/U; Soundtrack from Sharon Stone movie Basic
Instinct? Woman plots to kill husband; hires insurance agent to
sell her an accident policy on hubby without him knowing. Agent
is wise to the plot & agrees to help. After the dirty deed,
woman has sex with the agent, then kills him with an ice pick.
Sarcastic cop said, "He got off before he got off." Off abruptly
in mid-investigation. SIO=2+43- w/buzz bursts & LSB peskys.
(Frodge-MI)
1/26, 2143-2209*, 6925/U; Sound track of the movie Sunset Boulevard;
1950, staring Bill Holden & Gloria Swanson. (45444, Hunsicker, PA)
[AHA! I thought there was more than one soundtrack in this.
Maybe Basic Instinct started after Sunset Boulevard, but got
clipped. There were some lengthy pauses, which could account for
the varied s/off times. -- HF]
1/26, 2309, 6925/U; Seemed to be some kind of soundtrack from movie, TV
or radio show. Poor signal but popped up now & then. May have been
on the air for quite awhile. No ID ever heard (Gay-KY)
1/28, 1458-2141, 6945/6940/6935/AM; S6-7 at start & S8-9 at 1924, relay
of Andy Yoder giving a forum on pirate radio, oldies music & tunes
by Ratt, Rob Zombie, Boston, Black Keys, Van Halen, Jethro Tull &
House Of Pain, switched to 6940 at 2044 & 6935 at 2108.
(Filipkowski,RI)
1/29, 1510-1815+, 6935/AM; S7-8 playing music by Fall Out Boy, Led Zepp,
Candlebox, Golden Earring & Digital Underground. (Filipkowski,RI)
