hobby of listening to free radio "pirate" broadcasters in the
shortwave radio bands. The FRW is produced by the free radio community
and distributed to those who contribute.

The weekly deadline is Saturdays at 0000 UTC (Friday night in North
America). Please send your logs to all the editors, as our editing

thread seems to be AM, roughly similar signal strength/quality, old

Radio Illuminati, 6150 AM, 1953-2145*, 02-14-15 SIO: 343. Marathon
broadcast for Valentine’s Day with lots of romantic ballads by Spandau
Ballet, REO Speedwagon, Neil Young, etc. ID and sign off announcement
by OM 2144. Great QSL received a few hours later for log posted on the

Radio Ken: 2/20/16 2146-2157* UTC 6925 AM. S6-7 OM said "my name is
Ken" and "broadcasting from 422 Edgefield Road down from the
McDonalds", played a song for Jay Smilkstein and ID as "96.9 FM Radio
Ken",op asked someone to bring him a Quarter Pounder and a big coca
cola,off with the police and FCC raiding the studio skit,very funny

Sekio Radio: 2/23-24/16 2349-0035* UTC 6925 USB. S4-5 playing flute
music,hip hop music, Politics Ethnics skit, skit about a muder into
another skit with lots of f bombs, fast paced skit with mentions of
various drugs, slowed down version of "Your The Inspiration" by
Chicago and off with the Canadian National Anthem, ID sent via SSTV
images, very interesting show and another new pirate heard!

Unid 6950/AM, 0050-0055+, 21-Feb; Relay of a Dallas-Fort Worth area
station; lite pop tunes & 817 area ads. Fair till USB pesky came up

Unid 6950/AM, 2200-2209*, 22-Feb; Belfry bells, spooky vocal & off
w/more bells. No ID.anmt hrd. Poor at QRN lvl. (Frodge-MI)

Unid 6925/U, 2212-2304:30*, 22-Feb; Scam IRS call demanding an
immediate payment; "Agent" had an Indian accent; Woman sounded very
distraught, crying frequently & making him repeat things several
times. "I thought Obama was here to help us, not take more away". "Do
you work for that jackass?" "Agent" told her to go to a Wal-Mart & get
a moneygram & not tell them what it was for. 1st clue as to what was
really going on here, was when she told him that she lived in Monte
Colorado, a major city in Colorado. Eventually she clued him in that
she was onto his scam & asked if he felt stupid for being held on line
for over an hour & 30 min. Gotta be one of the better UNIDs. SIO=2+43
w/pulse & buzz bursts. I can't wait to get one of these calls.

the phone with a IRS call center which appeared to be in India. I

and a talk show called "Focus On The Family",played "Brass Monkey" by
The Beastie Boys then lots of sound clips with mentions of "monkey",OM
said "this brings us to the end of day two of this three day
broadcast",off with ads for Doctor IQ Candy Bar and a dandruff
