Seger, Don Henley, 0348 "BID Radio Burn It Down" ID, Its A Great
Day To Be Alive Travis Tritt, and off at 0353. SINPO:454444. S8-9
signal, nice audio. (Talbot-Alberta Canada).

CANADIAN RADIO AFTER DARK:

3/2, 0128-0148+, 6930/AM; Very weak with bits of audio heard but not
enough to make anything out, ID via HFU loggings. (Filipkowski,RI)

CELTIC MUSIC RADIO:

3/2, 0050-0057+, 6950/U; Celtic music & two IDs while tuned; gave addy,
but missed it. SIO=2+53+ (Frodge-MI)
3/2, 2258-2306:43*, 6950/U; Lotsa fiddle tunes; ID at close. SIO=253-
(Frodge-MI)

COLD COUNTRY CANADA:

3/2, 0118-0124+, 6925/U; S5-6 YL ID & "6969 shortwave" but on 6925, music
by Rush & Judas Priest, faded away by 0124. (Filipkowski,RI)

CZ, Channel Z Beacon:

2/27, 2148, 11427.7; Clear code "CZ". Apparently drifting downfreq from
an earlier report from fellow beaconista Rob Ross. (Frodge-MI)
3/3, 1435, 11428.3 approx.; I am tuning around for Indonesian USB QSO
pirates, but instead detect an extremely weak CW signal. Seems like
it is sending, C & Z & maybe K? No, the K is just a partial C. Final-
ly with extreme narrow bandwidth I can copy it as CZ over & over, so
it`s the beacon run by the pirate Channel Z, location unknown. There
are several recent logs of this on HF Underground if you search on
11428, also dating back to 2012y & 2011, various decimals above
11428. Coincidentally, Rob Ross has reported this, never saying what
the ID was, and got a QSL indicating the power as 380 milliwatts, to
continue until the battery die (Glenn Hauser, OK)

GIRL SCOUT RADIO:

3/1, 0023-0025+, 6955/U; S3-4 playing music by Gorillaz, YL ID.
(Filipkowski,RI)

LIQUID RADIO:

2/27, 2345, 6925.11/AM; S8 weak pirate with some talk & music. It was
IDed an hour later as Liquid Radio:
http://www.hfunderground.com/board/inde ... 634.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK)
2/28, 0010, 6925/AM; poor/fair, new age/new wave music, QRM de pesca-
dores on lower side. (Hassig-IL)
3/3, 2301-2306+, 6925.06/AM; (presumed) Thumper music. SIO=232 w/pulse
burst, LSB pesky QRM & @2304 someone tuned up running random pips
at varying pitches. (Frodge-MI)

MOONLIGHT RADIO:

2/26, 0032-0040+, 6935/U; SIO:232 Pop music, ID by OM and mention of
using 5 watts. Either signed off or faded out after 0040.
[Lobdell-MA]
2/27, 2318-2334*, 6935/U; S3-4 with dance music & off with ID &
"thanks for listening". (Filipkowski,RI)
3/2, 0047-0050+, 6945/U; Rock tune & ID. SIO=353 (Frodge-MI)
3/3, 0106-0117*, 6930/U; playing mx I didn't know...or couldn't Shazam,
0117 "Your Listening To Moonlight Radio" & off. SINPO:23432. Noisy
night, S3 signal at best in ECSS USB. (Talbot-Alberta Canada).
3/4, 0044-0059, 6935/U; 0044 Miss You The Rolling Stones, ID & Email
address, Papa Was A Rolling Stone then off at 0059. SINPO:33333.
S4-5 at best, high QRN tonight. (Talbot-Alberta Canada).

OLD RADIO PROGRAM PIRATE:

2/26, 2230, 6770.06/AM; Sounds like The Great Guildersleeve. Fair peaks
(Frodge-MI)
2/27, 0102, 6770/AM; poor/weak at noise level, Amos and Andy (they seem
to play that a lot). (Hassig-IL)
3/1, 2229-2244+, 6770/AM; S6-7 noisy conditions with an episode of The
Great Gildersleeve and Parkay Margarine ad. (Filipkowski,RI)
3/1, 2232, 6770.06/AM; The Great Guildersleeve. SIO=253- (Frodge-MI)
3/2, 2338-2342+, 6770/AM; S7-8 with ad for Avalon Cigarettes, swing
music & comedy skit with OM. (Filipkowski,RI)
3/3, 2249-2255+, 6770.06/AM; The Great Guildersleeve (seems to be the
2230 staple lately). 2256 pgm close w/PSA asking folks to use coal
instead of oil to heat their houses, to preserve oil for the war
effort & ad for Kraft cheese. 2259 vocal by Helen O'Connell? 2300
Vitalis intro to the Allen Young Show. SIO=252+ (Frodge-MI)

PEE WEE RADIO:

2/27, 0015-0021:31*, 6955/AM; Tune in to pgm close from VoA Rhodes;
VoIRI IS/ID into bluesy tune; off w/PEEWEE code ID. SIO=353+
(Frodge-MI)
2/27, 0143-0204, 6950/U; S4-5 then up to S7 playing dance & rock music,
CW IDs. (Filipkowski,RI)
2/27, 0340-0341*, 6924.6/AM; S4-5 heard song Sweet Little Angel & CW ID
then off. (Filipkowski,RI)
2/27, 0347-0414*, 6925/U; S3-5 with blues, dance & rock tunes including
Nationwide by ZZ Top, IDs via SSTVs, nice audio (Filipkowski,RI)
2/28, 0007, 6954.98/U; tune in to All India Radio interval signal! So it
is Partial India Radio? Is it WLIS = We Love Interval Signals? No,
read on. At S9+5 level, IS after IS plays, apparently recorded off
the air & many of them overmodulated/distorted here. Quite a trip
down memory lane, as many of them no longer exist. I can ID most of
them by tune or by announcement: All India Radio, Minsk IS & ID,
Radio Cancao Nova ID, IS & Burasi Sofia Radyosu, i.e. Bulgaria with
Turkish ID, CRI East is Red theme & ID; now it`s 0009.5: unfamiliar
IS, but ID in Chinese for CJKT, Zhi Sheng, chimes unknown 8-note IS,
alternating two different but related noteseries, anmt sounds like
Greek language IS `Forward, Left!` & Radio Prague, Czechoslovakia
ID, Radio Denmark Shortwave Department, IS & opening first of three
broadcasts to North America, on 15165 Sakura on marimba, NHK. By
now it`s 0014: unfamiliar horn fanfare, ID? IS, Suomen Yleisradio,
Radio Finland IDs Horns & drumming, ID in French; I thought at
first it was ORTF Tahiti, or was it something from Africa, Abid-
jan? [next: can`t read my scribble – Cairo, maybe?] Yankee Doodle,
VOA Rhodes signing off, Voice of Islamic Republic of Iran, IS, ID,
NA we still hear 0017 change to a song about fever; some dead air
0021 still tuned to 6955, hear a slow CW ID twice: PIWI--But is it
still the Interval Signal station? Amazingly, no one on HFU repor-
ted the above, but there were several reports of Peewee Radio on
6955 after 0128 with non-IS programming:
http://www.hfunderground.com/board/inde ... 637.0.html
O, depending on the exact spacing, maybe they were sending PEEWEE
instead of PIWI as I copied it. Sending Morse code slowly can axu-
ally make it harder to copy accurately (Glenn Hauser, OK)

PPKD BEACON:

3/1, 2234, 6815; Usual slow code ID (Frodge-MI)

PRECODE RADIO:

3/2, 1400-1500, 6925/U; My best guess at a name. Played a movie sound
track for an hour. A couple times, sent: "2450 URS 1931 PRECODE
FILM 2450 URS 1931 PRECODE FILM PRECODE RADIO" in CW. I think the
"2450 URS" may have actually been "24 HOURS". Not sure if I got
the "PRECODE" part right. Lots of fading. (Gay-KY)

RADIO AZTECA:

2/27, 1338-1433*, 6925.3/AM; Just above the noise at tune in then shot
up to S6-7 by 1353, Bram Stoker with program #8 featuring Ask Dr
Radio, listener mailbag, Top 10 reasons why Dr Gene Scott is on
the air, talk about He-Man Radio, WYMN & East Coast Beer Drinker,
off air clip of WPIG from the 1990s Pirate Bloopers with WLIS &
"How to be a respected member of the DX community" bit, usual
funny stuff! (Filipkowski,RI)
2/28, 2101-2201*, 6900/AM; S9+ with two replays of program #8.
(Filipkowski,RI)

RADIO FREE MARS:

2/26, 0123-0145+, 6925/AM; SIO:333 Disco remix of Elton John’s Rocket
Man, Benny & The Jets, 0129. ID by op who identified himself as
“yours truly, Mr. Martian”. Played a mix of Space Oddity/Rocket
Man. [Lobdell-MA]

WDDR Drunken DJ Radio:

2/28, 0150, 4015/U; fair, announcement was made at end of Wolverine
broadcast that DDJR would be coming up on 4015khz in the 75 meter
band, pleasant R&B music. (Hassig-IL)
2/28, 0156-0635*, 4015/4020/U; Marathon b'cast with AMAZING S9+20-30
signal & superb audio, op got extremely drunk during the course
of the b'cast which made for an enjoyable & funny listen, took
music requests from listeners via HF Underground & sent several
SSTVs honoring some of the listeners, played songs by The Doors,
Doobie Brothers, Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, The Who,
Ramones, B52s, BB King, Fixx, Santana & Harry Chapin, "Dave's Not
Here" skit from Cheech & Chong, a few of the songs played twice
because the op was so drunk that he didn't realize he had already
played them, also had a YL synth voice named Robin making funny
comments to HFU poster Skipmuck like "hey Skipmuck what the ****"
& "internet porn is great but Skipmuck is better". (Filipkowski,RI)
2/28, 0422-0615+, 4020/U; SIO:444. “Wolverine Radio” op doing his Drunken
DJ alter ego station. Frequent SSTV images, taking requests from
posts on the hfunderground. Tunes by Ram Jam, Ramones, Procol
Harum, B52s, war, etc. Used female voice synthesizer he named
“Robin” to heckle hfunderground poster “Skipmuck”. [Lobdell-MA]

WEEK RADIO:

2/27, 2105-2200*, 6976.1/AM; S7-8 with tunes Come Monday, Tuesday's Gone
With The Wind & I Wanna Be Your Friday Night, IDs & gmail address
for reports. (Filipkowski,RI)

WOLVERINE RADIO:

2/28, 0109, 6950/U; good, songs with the words king & queen in them
such as queen of the roller derby & Abba's dancing queen, SSTV/FAX
at 0145. (Hassig-IL)
2/28, 0109, 6950/U; jazz/blues song at S9+25. 0111 slightly risque song,
``King Size Papa``; @0124 I`m hearing it well on the PL-880 just
with whiprod, ID as expected: ``Wolverine Radio`` (Glenn Hauser, OK)
2/28, 0124-0149, 6950/U; S3-4 "Kings & Queens" music program & couple of
SSTVs. (Filipkowski,RI)

XLR8:

2/27, 0048-0525*, 6955/U; S3-4 & very little noise made for a good
reception, marathon b'cast with a wide variety of music including
electronica, punk, rock & pop, artists included The Dead Kennedys,
Rage Against The Machine, Wall Of Voodoo, Skee-Lo, Bikini Kill &
Serj Tankian, got my first XLR8 SSTV decode, lotsa IDs like "Acce-
lerate" & "X-L-R-8", great show! (Filipkowski,RI)
2/27, 0051, 6955/U; weak but clear, heavy metal music, gave ID twice.
(Hassig-IL)
2/27, 0122, 6955.00/U; bluesy song at S9, 0123 ``Accelerate``,not XLR-8.
ID & classic rock. Only pirate noted active this Friday evening,
unless that was another one, the JBA carrier on 6770
(Glenn Hauser, OK)
2/28, 0110-0330, 6955/U; Try A Little Sunshine The Factory, XLR8 IDs,
Mexican Radio Wall Of Voodo, still on at 033. SINPO:33333. S5
signal at best in ECSS USB, hard to copy because of QSB.
(Talbot-Alberta Canada).

UNIDs:

2/27, 2027-2315, 6945/AM; S6-9 documentary about radio jamming, Andy
Yoder talk on pirate radio & rock tunes by Kiss, Metallica, AC/DC
& Rob Zombie, signal buried in noise @2315. (Filipkowski,RI)
2/27, 2045-2050, 6925/U; S8-9 played song with OM laughing then a bunch
of farting sound effects. (Filipkowski,RI)
2/27, 2342, 6945/AM; S7 vs noise level, continuous talk, sounds like it
could be a commercial station so check my three MW locals to be
sure not // 960, 1390, 1640. (1390 can put a x5 harmonic on 6950,
but not close enough). Nor does it fit for a WWCR/WNQM parasite.
Still there after 0000 Feb 28. It was also UNIDENTIFIED for three
loggers in this thread:
http://www.hfunderground.com/board/inde ... 633.0.html
Nigel Pimblett in Alberta said, ``An interview about radio at 0058,
apparently Allan Weiner talking to a pirate operator. Poor to fair
signal`` (Glenn Hauser, OK)
2/28, 0022, 6945/U; poor, extended talk, possible Alan H Wiener talking
about radio. (Hassig-IL)
2/28, 2113+, 6925/AM; OM talk down in the noise & couldn't make much out
of it. (Filipkowski,RI)
2/29, 1503-1737*, 6925/AM; S6-7 with songs Bow Legged Polly, Groovy,
Foul Owl,Runnin' On Empty & some Led Zeppelin, sudden sign off.
(Filipkowski,RI)
3/2, 1824-1828, 2141-2151, 6925/AM; S6-7 at tune in with rock music then
quickly faded into the noise, S7-8 with S9 peaks at 2141 playing
music by Kid Rock,Lady Gaga & Rob Zombie. (Filipkowski,RI)
3/3, 2236-2248+, 6925/U; Soundtrack from the movie French Connection.
